Developer 11 Bit Studios has detailed Fractured Utopias, the first major DLC expansion for Frostpunk 2, coming to PC and consoles on December 8. The new content pack adds a suite of features to the sandbox-style Utopia Builder mode, including fresh political struggles, deepening ideological divisions, and over 100 new narrative events.
In Fractured Utopias, the DLC goes further into the core identity of each faction and how their competing visions for humanity’s future can either unite the final city on Earth, or tear it apart.
The Fractured Utopias DLC will release after the Frostpunk 2 consoles release on November 18, with physical editions developed in partnership with Skybound Games for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Frostpunk 2 Announces Fractured Utopias DLC
In Fractured Utopias, every faction in Frostpunk 2 will now have a clear ideology that manifests in a new Utopia skill tree. Players will need to earn trust and allegiance to unlock each faction’s unique set of laws, buildings, and powers.
Fractured Utopias Features
- 8 unique faction Utopias with new systems, tools, and endgame content
- 12 unique faction unlocks (laws, hubs, abilities, and more)
- 8 new faction hubs and housing district variants
- Over 100 new narrative events
- 2 new premium Tales: Doomsayers and Plague
- 1 brand-new playable map
And that’s not all, 11 Bit Studios is also working on a remake of the original Frostpunk, Frostpunk 1886. The game is in development in Unreal Engine 5 and will have new tech and buildings, a third “Purpose” path (joining Order and Faith) and full mod support. A gameplay reveal is planned for later this year.
