With the Valorant 8.11 update, Riot Games decided to make dynamic changes to the agent pool, which included drastic buffs to the most recently added duelist, Iso.
The Iso buffs rattled the agent selection meta, as it made him stronger than most duelists in the current meta. The dynamic buffs have led to Iso becoming a staple duelist for most competitive lobbies since the update's release.
Surprisingly, in a turn of events, Riot Games has announced that they are nerfing Iso to axe its overpowering abilities and make it a balanced pick for competitive lobbies.
Valorant's next update is bringing Iso nerfs
In a recent post made by Riot's game designer, Penguin, the new Iso nerfs were announced with a release schedule alongside the upcoming patch 9.00. Penguin shared that Riot Games has decided to make the following changes to Iso:
We have an upcoming Iso change planned for 9.00:
- Removing the two-kill reset on his Double Tap
- Removing the reset gives Iso just one activation.
- Reducing the duration of his E from 20s > 12s
- Reducing the duration should create a clearer window for opponents to deny him fights.
Moving on the adjustments, Iso's E or his Double Tap ability will be nerfed severely to balance its overpowering presence. With the 8.11 update, the Double Tap received a massive buff, which enabled Iso to get his protective shield without getting a kill.
With this new buff, the protective capability and the duration of the shield, killing Iso players became an almost impossible task without crisp aim.
Moreover, smurfs leaned on Iso to make their gunfights more easier, as with their out worldly aim and a protective shield which could be refreshed with every kill, they became almost invincible.
However, Riot's decision to nerf the Double Tap ability will surely dial down the smurfing issue. Moreover, players will get a fair window to win their fights against Iso with Double Tap ability enabled.
