Riot Games has revealed the major agent balance changes coming with the 8.11 patch for Valorant, focusing mainly on duelists like Reyna, Neon, Iso, and Raze, which might impact your gameplay.
The developers explained that these changes aim to allow other Duelists to compete better against Jett and Raze in competitive matches. Historically, Reyna and Iso have been among the least-picked Duelists in competitive play, and Riot aims to shift the meta.

- All maps (including Abyss) will be available in these queues.
- Abyss will enter the competitive pool in patch 9.0.
- Abyss will enter the premier pool in patch 9.02.
- Breeze and Split have been removed from the above map pools.
Players have already put on their Tin--foil hats as the reveal of Abyss has sparked several theories as players believe there is more to the reveal of Abyss. A lot of eagle--eyed fans believe that Abyss actually has hints about the upcoming Agent in Valorant.
What are the theories surrounding Abyss in Valorant?
- After the Valorant title card appears at 3:06, a hourglass-shaped figure is displayed, which is not a playable part of the Abyss map.
- Suddenly, two bullets are fired at it, causing air to leak from the bullet holes. A silhouette near the glass suggests it's in a frigid prison-like environment.
- The video clip concludes with a close-up of the figure's hand, showing slight movement that indicates it's alive.
The speculation is that this could be the next agent introduced into the game.
Last year, Gekko was released during VALORANT Champions 2023, and this year, Clove debuted at VCT Masters Madrid. It has already been announced that VALORANT Champions 2024 will be held in August in South Korea.
This has led to speculation that the next VALORANT agent could debut during this event. Time will reveal whether this figure becomes the next playable agent or remains a non-playable character in VALORANT.
