NetEase released the official Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 roadmap today. The new roadmap provides players a look at what content will be dropping during the game’s five-week mid-season update. While Season 9 was all about Team-Up revamps, the introduction of Jubilee, and a massive Black Widow rework, Season 9.5 will be focusing on introducing a new hero, limited-time events, and cosmetics leading into Season 10.
The Hood is stepping into the spotlight on August 7 as the latest hero added to Marvel Rivals. Parker Robbins is a tank that utilizes guns and mystical powers while dipping into his Oblivion Cloak to harness dark energy and become demonified. Robbins’ Ultimate will be the Gun Devil, which is sure to turn plenty of heads.
In addition to Robbins, players should expect another round of hero balance changes with Season 9.5. We already know several heroes will be getting buffs and nerfs when the update launches, but we’ll have to wait for the full patch notes to know which ones.
A handful of events will be taking place throughout Season 9.5 as detailed on the roadmap. The first of which is Creed of Akkaba, which will start a few days after launch. However, most players will probably be excited for what’s coming the week after Season 9.5 drops: the second wave of Summer Swimsuit cosmetics.
Vol. 2 of the Krakoan Reels event will be dropping new swimsuit skins for Black Cat, Winter Soldier, and Star-Lord. Like last time, some of these skins will probably be Premium-only.
Expect to see even more cosmetics added to Marvel Rivals towards the end of Season 9.5, including more character skins and themed events as we lead into Season 10.
There isn’t a ton of gameplay-focused content on this season’s roadmap compared to what we saw at the beginning of Season 9. However, with a new Vanguard to try out, a few events, balance changes, and a healthy dose of new cosmetics, players should have everything they need to stay entertained for the rest of the season.
