Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27. It will launch on Nintendo’s newest console with enhanced visuals, as well as an upgraded version of the platform-exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up Pack.
Minecraft’s Nintendo Switch 2 port will support something called Vibrant Visuals, which improves upon the game’s base graphics with enhanced lighting, shadows, and additional visual effects.
Vibrant visuals are designed to help players feel more immersed in Minecraft’s blocky open world. Mojang hasn’t shared all of the details on the visual upgrades yet, but they are expected to take advantage of Switch 2’s improved hardware over the previous Nintendo Switch.
Minecraft‘s Nintendo Switch port will also get an upgraded version of the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack. Included with Vibrant Visuals, the new version of the pack is described as fully optimized for Nintendo’s latest hardware. Players can expect the familiar Mario-themed cosmetics along with custom locations recreated inside Minecraft such as Peach’s Castle and Delfino Plaza. Super Mario Mash-Up Pack includes a Super Mario-themed world, character skins, music, and locations.
The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack was one of Minecraft‘s platform-exclusive content drops. Available for Nintendo consoles and PC, players who choose the pack gain access to exclusive content inspired by Nintendo’s mascot.
Minecraft is one of the most available games on the market, releasing on well over 20 different platforms ranging from last-gen to current-gen consoles, PC, and mobile.
It’s unclear if there are any gameplay exclusive features coming to Switch 2’s version of Minecraft, but at least Nintendo players are able to get their hands on the latest version of the game on their newest system. Minecraft is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27. Enhanced visuals and the upgraded Super Mario Mash-Up Pack are included.
