H1Z1 update to 'give players more bragging right opportunities'

H1Z1 just got a new update for PC. The update brings an all-new Combat Zone, Daily Challenges and more. H1Z1’s global competitive circuit will be closing out the year with the next stop in the Elite Series at DreamHack Winter in Sweden.

H1Z1 by Daybreak Games received a brand new content update today. The update brought an all new Combat Zone, Daily Challenges and more. 

Combat Zone will introduce players to a new map that features respawn mechanics which will come in handy if you want to "warm up or hone [your] skills" says the press release. The new Combat Zone also features a new 2x2 km map  with new locations, including a shooting range.

There will be no parachuting in: all players start fully equipped and ready to get into fights immediately. Instant respawn included.

Daily Challenges will "give players more bragging rights opportunities" says the press release. They mean daily in-game objectives and rewards. The objectives will be divided into three different categories, ranging in difficulty: easy, medium and hard.

You earn Skulls by completing said challenges, and those can be used to purchase in-game skins. "Daily Challenges aren’t just limited to one match and can be completed over a series of games in a day" explains the press release further.

New combat balance updates are also available. The updates have been made to H1Z1’s most popular weapons, including the AR-15, AK-47 and shotgun.

In other H1Z1 news, the game’s global competitive circuit will be closing out the year with the next stop in the Elite Series at DreamHack Winter in Sweden. The event will take place from 01 until 03 December, 2017. 

Some of the world’s best solo players and teams, including the H1Z1 Legends Invitational winner Jack “RizaaR” Parker and Elite Series reigning champs from DreamHack Atlanta, Chris “sweetdreams” Sexton (solos winner) and Counter Logic Gaming (team winner),  will fight for a combined prize pool of $250,000 (£188.978).
