ArenaNet have announced that Festival of Four Winds will commence on 24 July this year, bringing some activities such as Queen's Gauntlet, Crown Pavilion and Labyrinthine Cliffs Race for another spin, weeks after Long Live the Lich release.
ArenaNet's official post offers a little bit of lore for immersion before the event, stating that Queen Jennah, Zephyrites, Lionguard and Black Lion Trading Company teamed up to give Commanders all over the world a little bit of time and activities to kick back and relax from god and dragon chasing.
The Crown Pavilion will be one of the activities available, allowing players to fight for prestige and rewards. One of the disciplines is Boss Blitz where players will race to kill all the bosses that stand before them, in the shortest amount of time possible.
The faster they die, the better rewards, meaning more tickets for entering the Queen's Gauntlet.
The gauntlet will also make an appearance, once players donate enough money to Heal-o-Tron and kill enough bosses. Those who proceed to Queen's Gauntlet will be challenged in single combat by unique bosses. These have proven to be quite popular due to their mechanics and the need to actually tinker with builds in order to beat them, instead of just slapping on full zerk gear and slamming your head on the keyboard.
Labyrinthine Cliffs will be present in the location's fully glory, as vendors will come back and players will be able to hunt for Sky Crystals. ArenaNet are encouraging players to bring their griffons to the location, hinting at otherwise unreachable areas.
Across different places, activities and other event-related content, players will witness new adventures, races, exploration challenges and scavenger hunts. Queen's Gauntlet will feature new bosses with a high difficulty spike while Boss Blitz will have a remade part.
Festival of Four Winds 2018 will also introduce a new meta event that the site only describes as being modelled on Amnoon Casino Blitz. You can read up more on the official announcement on Guild Wars 2 .
