Gears 5 developers The Coalition have revealed a fresh batch of details about the game. The devs confirmed that pre-load is now available on PC and Xbox One and also detailed all 11 multiplayer maps that will be available at launch.

The wait is almost over and Gears 5 is officially set to launch next week. Today, the developers The Coalition have shared a couple of new, important details about the game, including pre-load, multiplayer maps, start times and more.

Players with slow internet speed will be happy to hear that pre-load is available now on both PC and Xbox One platform. Just find Gears 5 on Microsoft or Xbox Store and you'll notice the option to download the game so you can have everything up and ready for the launch next week.

Speaking about the launch, The Coalition also confirmed when exactly you'll be able to play Gears 5. The game's servers will go live at 9 PM on 05 September 2019 in whatever time zone you live in. If you live in a region with multiple time zones, Gears 5 will go live at the earliest one regardless if you have a digital or physical copy of the game.

Keep in mind that this start date and time only applies to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers and those who purchased the Ultimate edition of the game. The mere mortals get to play Gears 5 on 10 September 2019.

As for the multiplayer maps, there will be 11 of them at launch, it's been revealed in the latest video. There are 7 multiplayer maps for the classic Arena mode and four for the Escape mode. Arena maps include Asylum, Bunker, District, Exhibit, Icebound, Training Grounds, Vasgar while Escape mode maps are The Hive, The Descent, The Mines, The Gauntlet.

On top of these maps, there will be five more maps from the previous Gears of War but these are limited to Private Play. The maps won't show up in public playlists and they feature the same art as in Gears of War 4. Here's all of them: Dam, Forge Blitz (Forge), Foundation, Harbor, Reclaimed.
