Gears 5 has gone gold, meaning that The Coalition officially wrapped up the development of the game. To celebrate the occasion, the devs confirmed that Gears 5 campaign and Horde mode will be shown off prior to Gamescom on 19 August 2019.
The fifth instalment in Gears of War series named simply Gears 5 is just around the corner now, and today, the developer Coalition shared some important news about the game's development. Gears 5 has officially gone gold, meaning that the development has been wrapped up and the game is ready to be shipped.
Of course, this doesn't mean that The Coalition will stop working on the game, quite the contrary, it's expected that the devs deliver many patches, post-launch updates and more in the future.
Rod Fergusson, Studio Head at The Coalition said that Gears 5 is the biggest game in the franchise ever and that they can't wait to share it with the world.
"From all of us at The Coalition, we couldn’t be more excited to share Gears 5 with the world. I want to thank the team here who has worked so hard for our fans, and we all hope you are all as excited as we are to play Gears 5. This is furthest we have ever taken the franchise, living our studio mantra of ‘if you want to go far go together’," Fergusson said.
To celebrate the gold status, The Coalition have released the full list of Gears 5 achievements. There are a total of 71 achievements spanning across Campaign, Escape, Versus, Horde, Map Builder and more.
Furthermore, the devs also confirmed that players will get an exclusive look at Gears 5 Horde Mode prior to Gamescom, on 19 August 2019 at 5:00 PM CEST / 8:00 AM PDT, followed shortly thereafter by a world premiere of the story trailer for Gears 5 campaign on Gamescom: Opening Night Live at 8 PM CEST / 11 AM PDT.
Gears 5 is out on 10 September 2019 for PC and Xbox One.
