Gears 5 is in the final stretch ladies and gentlemen and The Coalition's launch trailer is yet another reason to be excited, as it packs a bunch of celebrity cameos, ranging from the Terminator's Sarah Connor to the Spartans from Halo.

Gears 5 officially launches on 09 September 2019, but Xbox One  and PC owners with Game Pass Ultimate can dive in as of tomorrow.

In addition to Gears, Microsoft's September package includes Dead Cells and Enter the Gungeon, but we've no doubt as to who's riding shotgun this time around.

The Coalition packed the launch trailer chock full of celebrity cameos, leaning heavily into the Terminator narrative, and showing the T-800 and equally as legendary Sarah Connor.

Add to that Dave Bautista's cameo appearance, you know - the wrestler whose popularity skyrocketed after starring as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy - and you've got plenty of content to sift through.

"It's been a long time coming, but I couldn't be happier that we're finally making Dave's dream to be in Gears of War a reality in Gears 5. The iconic, larger-than-life persona of Batista fits perfectly in the Gears of War Universe, and the entire team at The Coalition can't wait to see him take on the Swarm and all other challengers in multiplayer", said Rod Fergusson.

Indeed, Bautista spoke of his desire to end up in Gears 5 for a while now, so we guess it was meant to be, but you should know that his character won't be available before the 15th.

Gears of War's creator Cliff Bleszinski, a.k.a. CliffyB, has recently publicly backed Bautista for the role. He also stressed that those fans who are still concerned over the franchise's future can rest easy now, as it's in good and capable hands.

The Coalition's studio head Rod Fergusson and Gears of War went full circle, and he was rejoined with Epic's franchise under Microsoft's banner. Ironically, he mentioned that Fortnite fans should be pleased he left, because he'd have probably cancelled Fortnite otherwise.
