Epic Games have rolled out their v4.4 content update for Fortnite: Battle Royale and although it isn't the richest of updates, you are bound to smell it eventually. Yep, Epic reworked the smoke grenade into a viable weapon - the stink bomb.

Well, Epic removed the smoke grenades in v3.3 update, only to tweak them and bring them back in v4.4, which is sure to make OCDers content. Why else would they call it a content update, right?

Stink bombs kick up a cloud of stink that deals 5 damage every 0.5 seconds to any unfortunate soul caught inside, with the cloud lasting 9 seconds. Unlike smoke bombs, which were classified as uncommon, Fortnite's stink bombs come in epic rarity and come in stacks of 3-5.

To be fair, Fortnite's smoke bombs have never caught on en masse, with most players preferring to keep their slot open for actual weapons. However, I can remember a few that really turned smoke into an art, with all the mind games involved in smoking up a retreat lane. Or is it a retreat lane?

Epic have also added the 8-Bit Demo skin, adding some clever pixelation to Fortnite. Also, am I the only one who thinks that this skin simply begs for adding Nintendo's Power Glove. I know, Nintendo would probably sue them for it but I honestly think the ridiculousness of the device totally warrants it a place in Fortnite.

Fortnite's limited time mode Final Fight: Teams of 20 has received some tweaks as well. Storms actually stop after the third circle, instead triggering a countdown timer until the end of the round. Naturally, the team with most kills wins but for the first time in Fortnite, it's actually possible to tie a round, provided you have the same number of kills as the other surviving team.

As usual, there are a few fixes and tweaks here and there, this time around including the newly launched Nintendo Switch version, which is probably way past the by now. In fact, Fortnite has caused quite a ruckus in terms of PlayStation 4 and Switch cross-play, , of which we'll surely be hearing for quite a while yet.

Epic's Fortnite: Battle Royale strikes a perfect balance between realism and fun, despite the somewhat casual feel. Whatever your flavour is, the game's got it. Shooting? Building? More shooting? Boogie Bombs? What would you need kind sir?
