A former Rockstar Games developer has shared some insights on Grand Theft Auto 6's development progress, hinting that the highly anticipated game may already be in a playable state despite Rockstar’s continued silence.
It has been over a year since Rockstar officially confirmed GTA 6 with its first trailer, but no information about it has been posted ever since then.
Fans have therefore analyzed each and every detail in the trailer and even rummaged through GTA Online in a quest for any new information in an attempt to unveil new information about it.
Former Rockstar animator Mike York, in a recently performed interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, whose video later got removed for legal motives, shared his observations about the current state of the game.
York believes that Rockstar must have been polishing and adding new additions but guesses that GTA 6 is most likely finished and in testing at an in-house level.
“They're probably still putting in a little work and throwing in little extras," York clarified. "But I'd bet that the game is at least playable at this point, and a lot of testers have gone through it."
As expected with a big open-world title, he stated that most likely, many bugs must exist, and actively being resolved, by Rockstar.
The development team is most likely working to identify and correct as many of them as can possibly be addressed in a launch state for a glitchless one.
With no launch date confirmed, part of its fan base is concerned about any future postponement. However, York’s assurance that testing for the game continues can assuage such concerns about a delayed launch.
