Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on schedule, with its release still expected around fall 2025. Recently, rumours started popping up online that the launch had been delayed to 2026, and understandably, panic began to set in among fans.
However, none of that was officially confirmed, and now it has been denied by Take-Two themselves. In the most recent financial report, it was reiterated that GTA 6 is still planned to release in late 2025.
This information was especially good to hear for anxious fans of the next Rockstar Games installment since the franchise has maintained some longevity.
Of course, it's possible for delays to still pop up-hence being cautious-game development can be very unpredictable, and there's plenty of time before its expected release date. Historically, Rockstar Games has always delayed its big titles, and it was such the case with Red Dead Redemption 2.
It is no definitely guaranteed that this timeline will remain constant. The current report suggests everything is going ahead as planned, and the 2026 rumor isn't true at present.
For the time being, gamers should still consider Grand Theft Auto 6 launching in 2025, unless other updates say otherwise.
Closer to the date, more information will probably be spilled, and all eyes should be on any eventual announcements by Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive for any delays or changes in launch dates.
