Bungie revealed a small improvement for the storage space in Destiny 2 that is coming with the next season but Guardians will miss out on Xur's secret sales.
One of the most requested changes in the history of Destiny 2 is additional vault space. Being able to hold 500 items sounds like a lot but when you consider the high number of builds one player can have across three character and the vast number of items needed for all of them as a result of exponential growth, it really doesn't amount to much.
It is for this reason, along with hoarding, that the players constantly asked Bungie to increase the vault space for years but the company never did so. When Season 17 starts, however, there will be a small increase of 100 item slots but it remains to be seen how long it will take for this to become overcrowded as well.
Bungie did note they are looking at possible solutions that might arrive in the future.
On the side of changes that will sadden the players, holding Xur hostage will no longer have any effect. Despite being what is possibly the only hostage situation that was generally good for everyone, his inventory will not be updated if people keep him around in a session after the weekly reset.
There is a glimmer of hope as Bungie was wording was that the inventory "should not be different" hinting a glitch or two might happen after all.
