Guardian Games event will go on for three weeks and wrap up on 11 May 2020. During that time, the Guardians will compete on a giant scoreboard with their favourite class in order to assert dominance over the other two.
Players will get to pick daily class challenges from Eva Levante and Mr. Indeed himself, commander Zavala. Completing these will award points for the entire class so it will be a community effort for each of them.
It seems like crayon connoisseurs and supernova enthusiasts are at a bit of a numeric disadvantage since Hunters' breeding is out of control but Bungie noted that they will compensate for the difference in order to ensure all classes start equal.
As for the rewards, a new Exotic Machine Gun, Exotic Ghosts and new metallic class items that can change between gold, silver and bronze, depending on your class' standing. The appearance will lock in for a year with the official standings at the end of the event.
According to the Guardian Games page, there are hints that some of the new armour is being added to the event's reward pool, as opposed to Eververse, the latter of which is one of the Guardians' main woes in Destiny 2.
However, it also notes that Eververse's shelves "are lined with new emotes and universal ornament sets". Furthermore, there will be two new ships and Sparrows for sale, if you are looking to spend some Silver.
