Gambit is getting a major update with The Witch Queen release and that means rewards are getting significant changes too. Here is a quick overview.
Destiny 2 has gone a long time without any changes to Gambit but now it appears Bungie is going all-in with The Witch Queen. The devs provided a massive overview of changes to the mode itself but that's not all - rewards are getting significant changes as well, with more on the way.
The biggest news regarding the rewards is that players will be able to loot and focus Gambit engrams. Focusing here will be simpler than in other instances of the mechanic as we will only be able to choose between "Gambit Armour" and "Gambit Weapons". Focusing will cost 10,000 Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards.
If you choose to focus on Gambit weapons, the loot pool will include:
- Crowd Pleaser
- Bottom Dollar
- Trinary System
- Borrowed Time
- Servant Leader
While the pool is small, that's not all Gambit will have to offer. Brand new Gambit weapons will only be available through drops, not from the focused engrams. When a season expires, these weapons will be added to the focused engram pool and Bungie announced that the focusing options will expand as well during the upcoming seasons, probably to filter through the ever-growing pool of weapons.
Meanwhile, Bygones, Trust and Bad Omens are getting removed from Drifter's vendor screen so you might want to grab these before The Witch Queen arrives on February 22, 2022.
Furthermore, Gambit Memento can drop after any match, along with older Gambit shaders. The memento is used for weapon crafting.
Cosmetics that were tied to the Primeval Servitor can also drop at the end of any match because the creature was completely removed from the game mode .
