Crow was easily the most likeable character on Season of the Hunt but this newborn Guardian's arrival in the Last City may seem lore unfriendly. Bungie danced around the issue gracefully and here are all the details of how it was made possible.
Spoilers will be abundant in the article so turn away now if you still want to explore the story of Forsaken and Season of the Hunt on your own.
Crow is a humble Guardian who is discovering the new world after his Ghost, Glint, chose and revived him. Before that, he was an arrogant prince that thought little of the Light bearers and quite an unlikeable character overall, especially after Cayde-6's fate. It is for this reason that many Guardians and citizens of the City hate prince Uldren and just want to see him suffer, dead or both. And yet, this is exactly where he ended up after his stint with the Spider.
This turn of events begs two questions - how did Crow end up in the City, surrounded by Guardians who are not tearing him apart and is he aware of his past?
Unnoticed in the Last City
After Spider removed the explosive from Glint and we took Crow from his lair, he decided to make his way back to Earth where he remained incognito for a while. Osiris eventually found him and provided means to obfuscate the new Guardian's identity. This is where his new clothes came from, the same ones we can see in the Season of the Chosen trailer.
Considering he is seen with Zavala in that scene, it is safe to assume the Vanguard leader is keeping him close but it remains to be seen how accepting he will be of the new Hunter, given his history with the previous Hunter Vanguard.
How much does Crow know about his past life?
From the lore entries, it is clear that Crow has been informed by both Glint and encounters with random Guardians that there is a secret kept from him and this is the reason why many Guardians hate him. In fact, it's only Glint that keeps him going, mending Crow after unsavoury encounters with other Guardians.
However, Crow is still not aware of what he did while he was Uldren Sov which will probably lead to Zavala keeping him close during the time in the Last City - for Crow's own safety and probably a dose of distrust.
It won't be long before we get the details of Crow's stay at the Tower since the next season is kicking off on February 9, 2021, and the new Guardian will be at the location.
