The rumours were true. Deathloop and Dishonored developer Arkane Lyon are indeed working on a Blade video game, which they officially announced at The Game Awards last night.
Marvel's Blade is currently very early in development so no platforms have been announced but it's safe to assume that the game launches on PC and Xbox consoles since Arkane are part of Microsoft now. Though, it is a bit odd that Xbox branding was nowhere be found during the announcement. The trailer is also yet to be uploaded on Xbox's official channel.
Anyway, Arkane did not reveal many details about the project but we do know a couple of things. Players will obviously get to play as Blade in a fully single player campaign. Bethesda also mention that the game will feature a mature tone so expect brutal combat and executions, just like in Dishonored series.
Other than that, the game is pretty much a mystery. Game director Dinga Bakaba was pretty excited to be part of the project, stating that Arkane team have been "killing it" and how he's never been more excited about a game.
It certainly sounds like Arkane are having a lot of fun working on Blade and we hope the development goes smoothly for them. Marvel's Blade does not have a release date a the moment but it seems it's far away so stay patient until Arkane decide to give us more info in the coming years.
