Pearl Abyss have laid out exactly how Crimson Desert will run on each console, and while every platform gets a solid set of options, it's PS5 Pro that emerges as the clear showcase machine.

Alongside the PC requirements revealed earlier today, Pearl Abyss have also published the full console performance specifications for Crimson Desert, covering PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S across multiple graphics modes.

It's been a long wait and players have worryingly been asking for more details on the console performance but looking at the graph below, It's safe to say that concern from the community was unwarranted - Crimson Desert appears to be well optimised on console and even supports ray tracing in specific modes.

PlayStation 5

Standard PS5 owners get three modes to choose from. Performance targets 1080p at 60 FPS VSync, or 60+ FPS with VRR on a compatible display, with Raytracing Low. Balanced steps up to upscaled 4K from 1280p via FSR 3 at 40 FPS, also with Raytracing Low. Quality mode delivers upscaled 4K from 1440p FSR 3 at 30 FPS with Raytracing High. A solid offering across the board, with flexibility depending on whether you prioritise frames or visuals.

PlayStation 5 Pro

This is where things get genuinely impressive. PS5 Pro's Performance mode hits upscaled 4K from 1080p using Sony's Upgraded PSSR at 60 FPS, or 60+ VRR, with Raytracing High rather than the standard console's Low. Balanced matches that resolution from a sharper 1440p base, targeting 40 FPS or 48+ with VRR, again with Raytracing High. Quality mode is the headline: native 4K at 30 FPS with Raytracing Ultra. That's the best the game will look on any platform outside of a top-end gaming PC.

Xbox Series X

Series X gets three modes as well. Performance delivers 1080p at 60 FPS VSync or 60+ VRR with Raytracing Low. Balanced offers upscaled 4K from 1280p FSR 3 at 40 FPS with Raytracing Low. Quality steps up to upscaled 4K from 1440p FSR 3 at 30 FPS with Raytracing High. Comparable to the standard PS5 in broad terms, though without the PSSR advantage.

Xbox Series S

Series S gets two modes: Performance at 720p 40 FPS, and Quality at 1080p 30 FPS. Raytracing is off across both. It's a modest showing, though not unexpected given the hardware, and both modes at least keep things smooth.

A VRR display and HDMI 2.1 cable are required to take advantage of the variable refresh rate targets, while the 40 FPS and 60 FPS VRR Performance modes on PS5 and Series X also require a 120/240 Hz compatible display.
