Custom GPU maker Sapphire is likely broadening its range again with a Crimson Desert themed Radeon RX 9000 card spotted at retailers. This early listing confirms the collaboration between Sapphire and Pearl Abyss’ upcoming open-world RPG ahead of its March release.
This limited edition graphics card merges Sapphire’s premium NITRO+ line with Crimson Desert, which will release on 19 March 2026. Themed graphics cards aren’t uncommon, but this one is obviously piggybacking off AMD’s broader efforts marketing the game.
Sapphire RX 9000 Crimson Desert Edition Details
Officially known as Sapphire NITRO+ RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16 GB Crimson Desert Edition, this card is part of Sapphire's higher-end NITRO+ lineup. As we've seen with past special editions the emphasis seems to be aesthetics and not new hardware features.
Confirmed specifications
- Brand new AMD Radeon RX 9000 series GPU
- Sapphire's NITRO+ cooling system and factory overclock
- Crimson Desert themed aesthetic
- 16 GB of VRAM
AMD and Crimson Desert Partnership
No surprises here. AMD previously teased the Crimson Desert partnership on their social media, with the game being described as a flagship title for its new Radeon series.
GPU naming after games/titles can usually accomplish 1 of 2 things. Drive hype for an upcoming game launching around major hardware releases and provide a visually appealing alternative for collectors.
Considering Crimson Desert’s size and anticipated hype, the collaboration makes perfect sense.
Availability and What’s Still Unclear
As of this writing, Sapphire still hasn’t announced:
- Official pricing
- Regional availability
- Whether quantities will be limited
Keep in mind that special editions like these typically have limited production runs. So, if you happen to live in a region where they aren’t allocating many (if any) shipments, you might not get it.
Aimed at Fans and Enthusiasts
While these GPUs will likely offer the same core performance as their vanilla RX 9070 XT NITRO+ counterparts, Sapphire’s Crimson Desert Edition will most certainly cater to:
- Players invested in Pearl Abyss’ new RPG
- PC enthusiasts wanting a themed computer build
- Collector’s of limited/fans edition PCs
As Crimson Desert doesn’t launch until 19 March 2026, we should see Sapphire/AMD officially present the card(s) sooner.
