One of Capcom's most popular horror franchises, apart from Resident Evil, is, without doubt, Dino Crisis, the game we played more than twenty years ago on PlayStation 1, and that has been abandoned by Capcom ever since.
After the successful reanimation of the Resident Evil franchise through very successful remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, and this year's Resident Evil 4 remake, fans of forgotten Capcom's series about dinosaurs started to hope that Capcom was going to give Dino Crisis a similar treatment and that this series would return to the big gaming scene.
Of course, hopes are one thing, and reality is quite another, but the most recent survey that was posted on Capcom's official website gives some cause for optimism that this series is still being thought of and that something might be happening. In particular, one of the survey's questions asked participants to name their favourite Capcom brand, and Dino Crisis was included among the answers given.
Of course, there wouldn't be anything odd about this survey if this wasn't the first time that a poll of this kind had featured this forgotten Capcom franchise. Another intriguing aspect is that while Bionic Commando or Lost Planet are not included in the survey, Dino Crisis is. This might be a clear sign that something is going on with the Dino Crisis series and that Capcom is still relying on it.
Whatever happens in the future, the fact remains that Capcom has fueled the hopes of Dino Crisis series fans, for whom even these modest expectations are still pretty high.
