Blue Protocol developers have explained what kind of monetisation players can expect from this MMO

Bandai Namco's MMO Blue Protocol will have a battle pass and an in-game store, it's been confirmed by the developers in the recent dev stream.

We finally have some concrete information about Blue Protocol's monetisation system. In the most recent dev stream, Bandai Namco revealed details that pretty much confirm that Blue Protocol will be a "gacha game" with an in-game store, battle pass and more ways to spend your money.

In case you're not familiar with the term "gacha", it's not much different than your regular western F2P games with loot boxes.

It pretty much entices players to earn special currency either by playing the game or buying through an in-game store and then spending that currency to receive a random item. Genshin Impact is a great example of gacha game.

So, now that we have that out of the way, here's what to expect from Blue Protocol and its monetisation.

Blue Protocol monetisation explained

  • Blue Protocol will have an in-game store for cosmetics, mounts, stamps and emotes and more.
  • The game will also feature a Battle Pass system both free and premium.
    • Free includes 60 slots. Premium has 100 slots and includes 25 slots skip.
    • Every Battle Pass will be available for three months.
  • Consumable shop
    • Players can buy consumables to get extra rewards in dungeons
    • Some items in the shop will allow you to increase your success chance when crafting items.
    • Some items will get you instant quest rewards, without you even completing the quest

And that's pretty much everything we know about the monetisation system in Blue Protocol so far. Keep in mind that this has been translated from Japanese so it's possible some terms are not 100 per cent accurate but the descriptions are pretty much spot on.

The development team will probably reveal more details as we get close to the actual release date.

Blue Protocol is expected to launch in the second half of 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X|S , and PlayStation 5 .
