Bandai Namco's gorgeous MMORPG with anime visuals Blue Protocol has disappeared from the face of the earth over the last year but Bandai Namco have reiterated that the game's development is still well underway.
It might not release when the devs initially thought or this year, but Bandai Namco expect the title sometime in the next couple of years after 2022.
The confirmation comes from Bandai Namco's General Manager of the Development Division Daishi Yoshida (Thanks, Reddit) who reveals that the next few years from 2022 are big years for the Bandai Namco Online division since they're looking to release two titles - Gundam Evolution and Blue Protocol.
"The next few years from 2022 are very important seasons for Bandai Namco Online, with big titles such as "GUNDAM EVOLUTION" and "BLUE PROTOCOL" about to be released," Yoshida said (roughly translated by Google).
Sadly, we still don't have a more specific release date for Blue Protocol but at least we know it won't be coming anytime soon. If we had to guess, we would say it's probably coming sometime in late 2023 at the earliest, if not even later in 2024.
Hopefully, we'll get more details about the state of the development in the coming months and perhaps, get to see some new gameplay.
Blue Protocol is coming exclusively to PC and will launch first in Japan. Some job listings suggested that the game could also come to Europe, North America and Australia after the release in Japan.
