Biggest racing games releasing in 2023

After doing some research, we bring you the list of the most anticipated racing games in 2023, whether you prefer simulation, arcade, kart racing, or something entirely else.

Regarding the racing titles, the upcoming year will not be as rich as the previous one. We won't be receiving racing games like Gran Turismo , Need for Speed , or Grid , but we will be getting some exciting titles in 2023 that will undoubtedly satisfy our need for virtual speed.

We already discussed the upcoming release of the bike racing simulator TT Isle of Man Ride on the Edge 3, and we can conclude that this year will at least be more diverse in terms of racing games, featuring racing simulations, arcade racing, bike racing simulations, kart racing, and more.

Also, as is customary each year, the official Formula 1 game will be published, and according to many trustworthy sources, a new WRC game developed by Electronic Arts will be released this year as well, but we will not include this game in the list since we don't have the official confirmation yet.

However you prefer to race, on console or PC, this year will undoubtedly provide, so without further hesitation, let us discuss the upcoming racing games.

Forza Motorsport 

Forza Motorsport will be this year's best racing simulation on consoles

Forza Motorsport is probably one of the year's most anticipated and significant racing games. Microsoft promises that Forza Motorsport will be the most realistic game in the series ever, thanks to the power of Xbox Series X . The game will feature a new tyre model, accurate damage modelling, and a fuel usage system. In the never-ending console war between Xbox and PlayStation, Microsoft may win the battle for the top console racing sim this year because Gran Turismo 7 is already a year old game and, despite the constant addition of new content, Gran Turismo 7 will most likely be unable to outmatch Forza Motorsport in terms of console best racing sim in 2023.

Forza Motorsport will be available in stores in spring 2023 on Xbox Series X|S and PC .

TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 

Steam Ride on the Edge 3 will be a true bike racing simulator

This year may be excellent for bike racing games. Monster Energy Supercross 6 has already been confirmed, while MotoGP 23 and SBK 23 are both expected to be released this year. When we add TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 to this list, all lovers of two-wheel racing games will be overjoyed. This true motorcycle racing simulator will take place on the Isle of Man, a small island in the Irish Sea, with a lot of current and historical courses and a lot of virtual ground to cover—around 124 miles of open roads, according to the game developers, RaceWard. 

The game is expected to be released in May this year and will be available for PlayStation 5 , PlayStation 4 , Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One , Nintendo Switch , and PC. 

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown

Fans have been waiting for a new game in the Test Drive Unlimited series for twelve years, and it appears the wait may end this year. Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown was supposed to be released in September 2022; however, it was pushed back to 2023 without an exact release date. This open-world racing game from WRC Generations' KT Racing will be set in a virtual recreation of Hong Kong Island, with a heavy emphasis on night racing. Once it is released, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. 

Wreckreation 

Steam Wreckreation is a spiritual successor of Burnout serial with completely customizable tracks and obstacles

We've all had a good time playing the Burnout games. Now, from the same developers, Three Fields Entertainment , comes an arcade driving game that promises to be a lot of fun. Wreckreation will take place on MixWorld, a 400-square-kilometre area on which we will be able to design our own circuits and obstacles. The game will feature about thirty vehicles in six different modes, allowing players to play solo or in collaboration with other players. 

Wreckreation is supposed to be released in 2023, but there is no specific release date. Once it is out, the game will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. 

Rennsport

RaceDepartment Rennsport aims to be the most realistic racing sim ever

It's not every day that you see a brand-new IP in the racing sim market with such lofty goals as Rennsport. Rennsport's goal is to create "the most realistic racing simulation possible" with the assistance of experienced drivers, racing strategists, programmers, and Esports specialists. So far, all we know about the game is that it is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, will be ultra-realistic, and will be heavily focused on e-spots. Early screenshots reveal that the game will include the BMW M4 GT3, Audi R8 LMS Evo II, and Porsche 911 GT3 R. A closed beta will be launched in January 2023, followed by an open beta in the spring. The final version is scheduled for release by the end of 2023. Rennsport will be a PC exclusive.

Disney Speedstorm 

Epic Games Disney Speedstorm will feature Disney characters with signature vehicles and weapons

The first game that comes to mind when we think about kart racing is Mario Kart . However, if we do not own a Nintendo Switch console, we will be able to find an alternative this year in Disney Speedstorm, a game developed by the creators of Asphalt, the popular racing series for mobile platforms. The game will include well-known, fan-favourite characters from Disney and Pixar cartoons and movies, such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Jack Sparrow, and others, each with their own characteristic vehicle for racing and shooting their way through a variety of tracks. 

The game will be released in 2023, but the exact release date is still unknown. Disney Speedstorm will be a free-to-play title with cross-play multiplayer, and once it is released, it will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
