Rainbow Six Siege has introduced Olivier "Lion" Flament, a young Frenchman that's been through it all, back in Operation Chimera. He joined Team Rainbow as a two-speed two-armour attacker equipped with a drone best known as the "Big Brother".
Ubisoft , just like Riot , was always good at immersing the player into the world of the game they've made. Every character, from Raze to Kapkan has their own story and purpose in their own circle. At the start, Rainbow Six Siege was a game about a CTU training for real search-and-rescue situations but later on, that changed.
Lion came from a traditional family of devoted Catholics but he could not see himself fitting in that mould. He spent his young days drinking, partying and consuming drugs, finding joy in going against everything his family stood for.
The straw that broke the camel's back was the announcement that he got his girlfriend, Claire, pregnant at the young age of 18. Upon hearing this, his family decided that it was time for Lion to move out and cut ties with him.
Flament tried convincing his girlfriend to get an abortion, which she refused, sending him into a rapid downward spiral. Claire left with his unborn child and Lion was alone, with nothing left to his name. The French Army was his final effort to bring his life back into order.
Some time passed and Claire was about to get married, Alexis has found someone else to be his father figure. This crushed Lion and he had set goals for himself many would deem as unachievable.
His fascination for bacteriology, virology, and vector control led him to join the GIGN's Operational Support Force as a biohazard expert. He got his name after frightening a mob away with his loud voice in Yellow fever-infested Sudan.

During the 2015 Ebola outbreak in Nigeria, Lion, Doc and Twitch were all sent out to assist the medical personnel dealing with the situation. Lion made the difficult decision of quarantining infected personnel among which was Doc's colleague, none of which survived.
Kateb, better known as "Doc", has not forgiven his associate even years later and still blames him for all of those deaths. Lion managed to keep a clear head and this caught the attention of Lera Melnikova, better known as Finka. She was the one who recommended him as a candidate for Team Rainbow.
Even after the fundamental changes Lion has gone through, some of the old troublemaker still resides within him. This is most prominently shown during a training exercise where Lion's arrogance got him punched by Thatcher, almost causing a fight between the GIGN and the SAS.
Olivier spends most of his social time at Church volunteering when he can, or at his apartment reading and staying out of trouble while listening to the metal music of his adolescence.
