It is a very common thing in the Dark Pictures Anthologies games to have a character who is loved by the whole community. In the Devil in Me, that spot is filled by Mark. This is how to keep him alive till the very end.

Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have joined forces yet again to release a title that could compete for the best horror game of the year.

What makes the Devil in Me so unique and memorable is the players' connection with the characters and how easy it is to lose those characters for good.

Mark doesn't get much attention or any character development at the start. He is just known as the mellow guy who dated Kate. The players can approach the rekindling of their relationship however they wish since it does not really affect the game later on.

Throughout the story, Mark doesn't really get into any life-threatening situations as long as the players hit skill checks and hide when they have to hide. If that happens, Mark is guaranteed to escape and live to tell the tale.

Aside from the skill checks, in the scene where a police officer gets decapitated, if the players choose to make Mark grab the pepper spray, they will solidify his escape as it'll come in handy later on in a fight with the killer.

It is disappointing to see such a likeable character not get that much "action" (like Kate) but we are happy that it is easy to keep him alive and out of harm's way.
