The missions in Starfield: Shattered Space, the latest DLC for this Bethesda's RPG shooter, are quite more interesting and even challenging, mostly due to the inclusion of puzzles and generally different approaches in the mission design.
A true testament to this claim is the mission called Exhuming the Past, in which, to gain access to the deeper levels of the dam, you'll have to obtain the keycard and to be able to do that, you'll have to solve a very interesting puzzle.
If this puzzle is giving you a headache, we've prepared a guide that will show you how to solve it.
How to solve the keycard puzzle inside Ma'leen dam
While playing the Exhuming the Past mission, you'll eventually come to the door that requires a keycard to unlock. Once you interact with the door, the objective marker will point you towards the computer in the room next door. The solution to your keycard problem lies exactly inside this computer.
All three files will be important in solving this puzzle, but once you inspect the second file, it will tell you that you found out how to obtain a keycard. Left from the computer is the machine the workers in the lab experimented with, and this machine's function was to teleport the objects. Luckily for you, the object they experimented with before they left was a keycard.
In the third file, you can find the correct energy value for moving a keycard, and it is 235, but if you enter those numbers, unfortunately, nothing will happen. The solution to this problem actually lies in the second file, where you can find the text referring to that during limited power usage (the state you found the lab in), all values must increase by 100.
So that's what you must do—increase it! Instead of 235, enter 335 and press execute. Once you do this, the keycard will transfer to the other chamber. Pick it up and use it on the door.
