As Behavior takes a deep dive into Japan's haunting folklore, the Oni emerges. This article ventures beyond the mist to show the Oni's true power the best perks to amplify it.

In the shadowed realm of Dead by Daylight, where survival is a delicate dance between cunning and skill, the balance between killers and survivors can shift with the introduction of unique and powerful perks.

Behaviour fully embraced Japan's culture and introduced the Oni, a type of demonic creature often of giant size, great strength, and fearful appearance that sets out to hunt anyone that crosses their path.

The Oni feeds on the pain of his victims and uses it as fuel to power his special ability. Similarly to the Hillbilly, he gains significantly increased movement speed and the ability to instantly down his victims.

Perk Loadout

Deadlock

Whenever a generator is completed, The entity blocks the Generator with the most progression for 30 seconds. The blocked Generator is revealed to the killer in white during this time.

Deadlock empowers the killer to strategically patrol the area and defend that generator, potentially slowing down survivor progress and creating more intense chases which will guarantee him a sufficient income of blood orbs.

Thinkerer

Whenever a generator is repaired to 70%, the killer benefits from the following effects: the generator gives the killer a loud notification, revealing its location and grants the killer the undetectable status effect for the next 16 seconds.

The loud notification and generator reveal add strategic pressure on survivors. Repairing generators becomes a more calculated decision, as survivors need to weigh the risk of exposing their location and feeding the Oni more of his power or progressing the game at the current moment.

No Way Out

Once the exit gates have been powered No Way Out activates and any survivor that interacts with an exit gate switch will trigger a loud noise that will notify the killer and the gates will be blocked off for 12 seconds per stack. Stacks are gained from hooking survivors.

Discordance

Any generator within a range of 128 metres that is being repaired by 2 or more survivors is marked by a yellow aura. When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a loud noise notification on the generator. After the Generator is no longer within range or is being repaired by just 1 Survivor, the highlighted aura will linger for another 4 seconds.

The perk enhances the Oni's ability to engage in mind games with survivors during the endgame. It promotes map control and positioning, as he can anticipate survivor movements and capitalize on the blocked gates to initiate chases or ambushes, especially if he has his power ready.

Add-ons

The ideal add-ons for the Ghostface are Lion Fang and Yamaoka Sashimono (Increased Blood Fury).
