Dead by Daylight: Ideal loadout for the Hillbilly
The story of Hillbilly is so sad
The story of Hillbilly is so sad

The Hillbilly is the most straightforward killer in Dead by Daylight but so many players struggle to master him. We have come up with the best perk loadout that will help him get those 4 kills and win the game.

The Hillbilly is probably one of the hardest Dead by Daylight starting killers to play and master, this is due to his ability requiring a lot of practice to use efficiently. Don't worry though! We have compiled the perfect loadout that will give any beginner a fair chance at playing Behaviour's game as the killer they like.

While the Hillbilly does have a decent roster of personal perks, we will borrow the perks of other killers for his loadout. Here is what we've put together.

Perk Loadout

Barbecue and Chilli

You can never have enough of Barbecue and Chilli and we strongly believe that even after its adjustment, it is still the most viable attacker perk to date. Barbecue and Chilli is the Hillbilly's perk that grants aura-reading abilities once the killer is 40 metres away from a survivor.

Given that the Hillbilly is one of the fastest killers in the game, Barbecue and Chilli allow him to both get a sense of where the survivors and quickly make his way over to them with his chainsaw.

Pop Goes the Weasel

After hooking a survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates and damaging a generator will instantly regress it by -30% of its current progression.

This perk is good for beginners since it is relatively easy to use and gives the killers time to go into chases and extend the game.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance

At the start of the trial, 4 random hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks, their aura is visible to the killer. The killer starts the trial with 4 tokens, each time a survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook for the first time, 1 token is consumed and the generator with the most progression explodes and instantly regresses by 25% of its maximum possible progression. All survivors that were repairing that generator will scream, but their location will not be revealed.

After Pain Resonance activates, it'll push off any survivors working on a generator, locking it for a certain amount of time. If the survivors are far away, Barbecue and Chilli will also activate and reveal their auras, giving the killer a chance to make a play.

In the worst-case scenario, the killer will scare off the survivors and use Pop Goes the Weasel to further decrease the generator's progress.

Bamboozle

After a killer vaults a window, Bamboozle activates and the Entity blocks that window for the next 16 seconds, leaving the survivors unable to use it.

This perk is a good pick for the Hillbilly since his only weakness is vaultable jungle gyms. Blocking off anything that can be vaulted gives him the advantage in a chase and the ability to injure a survivor faster.

Add-ons

The best add-ons for the Hillbilly are Lo Pro Chains (Chainsaw goes through pallets, breaking them instantly but survivors do not get downed from a fully healthy state) and Mothers Helper (Chainsaw charges faster if the killer was stunned in the last 30 seconds).
