Yakuza: Like a Dragon has been out in Japan for some time but now it's time to go international, as Sega set the date for November 13, 2020, when the RPG hits PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Sega are planning to launch Yakuza: Like a Dragon on next-gen consoles as well, although that's where launch dates get a bit hazy.
We know that Yakuza: Like a Dragon is meant to be the launch title for Xbox Series X, and since developer RGG Studio pegged it for November, we suppose this means that Microsoft's next-gen offering is coming before December.
Much like the rest of cross-gen titles, Sega will be offering a cross-buy system for Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This means that if you upgrade to PS5/XSX in the meantime, you'll be able to upgrade the game for free.
As for the game itself, Yakuza: Like a Dragon takes players to Yokohama, Japan, which is a new setting tailor-made for the game. The trailer shows new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, as well as his loyal crewmembers Nanba, Saeko and Adachi.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon offers more than 20 unique jobs for players to dive into and hopefully rise through the ranks, hence the trailer name - "How Will You Rise?"
"In what can only be described as a meta worldview, Ichiban envisions himself the lead character in an RPG and his ensuing skirmishes take on the form of turn-based battles. If you’ve ever wanted to don a chef’s hat and sprinkle enemies with a dash of pepper to finish them off in style, we’re happy to say that no game other than Yakuza: Like a Dragon will offer you that experience", Sega wrote.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon has had a great reception in Japan so hopefully Sega and RGG do it again on the international market in November.
