Microids released a new trailer for the XIII remake, for the first time showing glimpses of the local multiplayer that goes beyond just two players apparently.

XIII owners will be able to get local multiplayer featuring deathmatch of up to four players apparently. This info is coming from the launch trailer which aired on November 9, 2020, continuing the tradition of releasing launch trailer before the game actually launches.

However, Microids weren't as egregious as some other studios that tend to release "launch" trailers weeks ahead of release since XIII is coming out on November 10, 2020.

It features narration about the story where XIII is shown as an extremely capable agent who happens to have amnesia and is hunted all across the USA due to being suspected of murdering the president of the country. There is a lot of action and fireworks throughout the video but the juicy stuff came at the very end.

Microids teased local multiplayer as the screen started splitting but the initial thought of having two-player deathmatch quickly fleeted as the screen kept splitting until eventually reaching four players.

Up to four-player deathmatch may not sound like a big deal by today's standards but keep in mind this is local so as long as you have enough controllers, you will be able to play with up to three friends on the couch next to you.

Curiously enough, the Steam page doesn't list any sort of multiplayer in the features and it remains to be seen if PC players will get this functionality.
