Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft players can now vote on which mount they would like to receive for free in Shadowlands, out of a selection posted on the forums.
Mounts are a huge part of World of Warcraft and they have been ever since the launch. However, these days it is more about collecting as many as possible and less about scrounging up enough money to purchase one so you don't have to wade through entire Azeroth on feet.
It is probably for this reason that Blizzard decided to give out one more mount for everyone's collection but the catch is that the mount hasn't been completed yet.
The art team has made several mount concepts and Blizzard are looking for player feedback on which one of those concepts they want to see come to digital life.
Players can vote on one of five concepts:
- Wandering Ancient - A large and leafy mount as one might expect an Ancient to look like
- Soaring Spelltome - A literal book that you can ride into battle
- Nerubian Swarmer - After the Helm of Domination got shattered, Nerubians burst out into the world. Argent Blade captured some and handed them over to Ebon Blade to be turned into allies
- Curious Caterpillar - After feasting on Pandaren's crops, it became too large to turn into a butterfly. Now you can ride it
- Goey Slimesaber - This jellied creatures emerged from slime pools in Plaguefall and can now be used as a mount. A sticky one
You can vote for your favourite mount concept on the forums and the one with the most votes will become available to everyone.
