World of Warcraft Classic was already a big hit, despite Blizzard not believing it would be initially and now it seems like the corporation wants to keep milking that cow.
They announced WoW Classic Hardcore servers where players will only have one life but that doesn't mean the character gets deleted afterwards.
Instead, the character will remain in the ghost (or wisp) state permanently, until it is deleted by the player or transferred to a non-Hardcore server.
To prevent accidental PvP flags, the flagging system will work differently in these realms. Players who are not flagged for PvP will not be able to attack those who are in order to avoid accidentally losing their character due to stray AoE or other accidents.
Quests that previously flagged players for PvP will no longer do so. The only way to flag oneself is to type "/pvp" in chat.
Battlegrounds and PvP Battlemasters will be disabled while premade Wargames will be available. Duel to the Death will be a feature unique to the Hardcore realms where both players will have to accept and go through a warning popup if they want to duke it out. Defeating other duelists will award the String of Ears "buff" which serves to display how many duel victories one managed to achieve thus far.
Buff and debuff caps have been removed while dungeons will have 24-hour lockouts in order to prevent quick leveling with relatively low risk. Furthermore, Paladins can no longer use Hearthstone while in their bubble so count that little trick out.
While there are some safeguards to prevent people from kiting dangerous mobs to player hubs, Blizzard warned that finding a way to do so will be a punishable offence.
Considering that characters will often make their way out of these realms, the devs unlocked all content phases from the get-go so the players don't miss out on any activities or loot if they have to start over.
