Another exciting crossover is coming to Overwatch 2, courtesy of Blizzard Entertainment, and one of the most beloved universes in gaming: World of Warcraft. This new event, coming after last year's Diablo collaboration, promises a clutch of new skins and a fresh game mode, possibly, from September 17th.
In the new trailer, Reinhardt, Widowmaker, Zenyatta, and Torbjorn are all shown off in amazing new skins, all of which are directly inspired by World of Warcraft. Reinhardt becomes this terrifying Lich King as the hammer is replaced by the legendary Frostmourne.
Widowmaker looks like a type version of Sylvanas Windrunner-complete with what looks to be a bow in place of her sniper rifle. Zenyatta is donning a Thrall skin, which is quite unexpected, yet interesting nonetheless.
Torbjorn returns donning his Magni Bronzebeard skin-much like in the previous event, only this time diamond-adorned to reflect his current World of Warcraft lore status.
Aside from the cosmetic changes, there may be a new mode where players join either the Alliance or Horde to participate in fights. While information is very scarce for how this mode will work, fans are excited to see how the factions will make their way into Overwatch 2 gameplay, with potentially some exciting teams-based combat.
Overwatch 2 will be available for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Continue to stay tuned for more details as this story develops! This is going to be a very new direction for the Overwatch and World of Warcraft players.
