Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have released the second patch for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, the Halloween Update. The patch, which goes by the official title of Patch 1.0.2, brings with it a host of new cosmetics to celebrate the spooky season as well as a long list of stability fixes for some of the most stubborn bugs in the game since its launch.
The Halloween Update brings 24 new customisation options for players to give their Elder vampire, Phyre, a new look. The cosmetic options include eight new hairstyles, eight makeup styles, and eight eye colours to further fine-tune Phyre’s appearance as they prowl the night streets of Seattle.
The Halloween Update brings significant stability improvements to the game. A number of quest-breaking bugs, crash scenarios, and performance issues have been addressed and resolved across all platforms. The developers have also shared a brief roadmap of future updates, with new gameplay features to be introduced in future updates in the coming months.
What’s New in Patch 1.0.2
The Halloween Update introduces 24 new cosmetics available to all players as free content. These are:
- 8 hairstyles
- 8 makeup looks
- 8 eye colours
New options will be unlocked automatically after installing the patch, allowing players to freely combine their favourite style elements.In addition to this celebratory update, many stability issues have been resolved.
Major combat-related crash conditions have been eliminated, as have some during cutscenes and checkpoint reloads. Several quests which were known to softlock progression now work properly. Dialogue interruptions, missing subtitles, and broken map markers have also been eliminated for improved story pacing.
Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements
Patch 1.0.2 fixes dozens of issues impacting your game experience. Some of the major highlights are:
- Fixed dozens of quest and checkpoint related crashes, especially in "Follow Verona's Scent" and "Hole in the Wall".
- Fixed several stealth tutorial softlocks and dialogue overlap bugs.
- Added missing voice-over lines for some clan interactions.
- Enhanced HUD waypoints and localisation in various languages.
- Fixed various achievement bugs, such as "History Buff" and "What Sup? ".
In addition, controller vibration now correctly responds to player intensity settings. They have also fixed a variety of collision issues that sometimes caused Phyre to get stuck or fall through the map.
Upcoming Features and Developer Commitment
The Chinese Room and Paradox Interactive have confirmed that there will be continuous updates until 2025 and 2026.
