The developers of Cities: Skylines 2, Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive, announced that they are still struggling to achieve stability and good performance on consoles, so the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS will not be available in the October of this year.
As we said, Cities: Skylines 2 editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles players won't be ready to play this year. The development studio Colossal Order reported that they have not yet achieved the level of stability and acceptable performance that they set for the launch of the game on consoles.
With that alone, the plan to make the game available on consoles in the tenth month fell through. They said that they are making progress, but a slow one, and that there are still unresolved issues that will hurt the gaming experience the developers want to deliver in the end.
“We're making progress, but slowly, and there are still unresolved issues that hurt the gaming experience we want to deliver. We understand that this is a disappointment, we did not expect this either. However, we need to keep you updated on the development process even when the updates are not what we would like to see.” - they said from Colossal.
Cities: Skylines 2 is currently available on the PC platform and earlier this month the game received its most important update to date. It completely changed the economy system, but so far it has not resulted in more positive reactions from fans or a significant increase in active players.
