ARC Raiders from Embark Studios, the long-awaited extraction shooter that’s been postponed and reworked many times over the last few years, is almost here, and preloading is live.
Preloading the game means that you can immediately jump in and start playing when the servers open. It also means you don’t have to worry about the servers going down at the last minute, or maybe realizing you don’t have enough space on your console or PC.
With that in mind, below you can find everything you need to know about how to preload ARC Raiders, as well as the file sizes for all PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions of the game.
How to Download and Preload ARC Raiders
Preloading for ARC Raiders became available on October 28, two days before its global launch. The game won’t have any early access period, so all players will be able to play at the same time when the servers open.
If you’ve pre-purchased the game in digital form, follow these steps to preload ARC Raiders on your preferred platform:
- Go to the official website for ARC Raiders.
- Click the Pre-Order Now button at the top of the homepage.
- Pick your preferred platform, be it Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S.
- Complete your purchase at the relevant storefront.
- When the purchase is complete, you’ll see the Preload button (instead of the price).
- Click Preload, wait for the installation process to complete, and you’re ready to go on launch day.
That’s all there is to it, and by following these simple steps you’ll be fully prepared for the worldwide launch of ARC Raiders.
ARC Raiders File Sizes on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC
Embark Studios have verified file sizes of the game and these are surprisingly small for a game with this scope and graphical fidelity.
Platform File Size
- PlayStation 5: 16.19 GB
- Xbox Series X/S: 27-32 GB
- PC: 29.05 GB
Especially for a game with environments this large and including multiplayer, these are very low file sizes compared to other modern shooters which will take up 70+ GB.
ARC Raiders has been well optimised by Embark Studios to make sure installation sizes are as small as possible without any performance or visual compromises.
