Paradox Interactive have sent Vampire: The Masquerade fans into a frenzy with a simple tweet that confirmed a big Bloodlines 2 announcement in September 2023.
Publisher Paradox Interactive have just confirmed a big Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 announcement for September 2023 after a lengthy period of radio silence.
We also got a pack of stunning new screenshots , showcasing dark alleys but also some characters that we'll meet in this RPG . On top of that, the devs shared a lengthy blog post, explaining what has been happening behind the scenes at the Bloodlines team.
"It’s been quite a while between updates while we’ve had our heads down working on the game. We remain just as dedicated to delivering a great Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines game as we were when we announced, and are looking forward to showing you more in September this year," the dev team have written on their blog.
As for those who have already spent their money on pre-ordering Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, Paradox said they are offering refunds to everyone who purchased any edition of the game and will proactively refund all pre-orders of physical products including the Collector's Edition.
If you're wondering why are Paradox refunding the pre-orders, well, it looks like they have updated the editions with new content meaning that previous editions offer items that may not be in the game anymore.
"With the bonus content being updated, the prior physical edition offered items that are no longer representative of the game. This includes the Collector’s Edition created and sold by DPA Merchandising GmbH(formerly Gaya Entertainment GmbH), and all physical versions of the First Blood edition, Unsanctioned edition and Blood Moon edition disc."
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 was officially announced in 2019 with a Q1 2020 release date. However, it suffered a delay to late 2020 and was eventually pushed into 2021. Paradox Interactive then announced that the game was delayed indefinitely suggesting a full reboot was underway.
Luckily, it looks like the team are close to finally wrapping up the development of this long-awaited title, which should be coming to PC , PlayStation 4 , PlayStation 5 , Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as initially announced.
