Titanfall 2 will be getting a 4 player co-op multiplayer mode with its next update titled Operation Frontier Shield. The free update is scheduled to deploy on 25 July 2017 and will also include new enemy types, grind ladders, and microtransaction cosmetic stuff.
One of 2016's FPS critical darlings is scheduled to receive a free co-op update next week. Titanfall 2 will get a wave-based multiplayer co-op mode for 4 players, along with maps, cosmetics and new Titan progression ranks to go with the new game mode.
Players can fend off 5 waves of enemies in each match, with several available difficulty settings and some new enemy types specifically designed for the co-op game mode. The free new content will launch on 25 July 2017, and anyone still on the fence about purchasing Titanfall 2 can make up their mind during the free trial weekend running 28 - 30 July, on both PC and consoles. The trial will include multiplayer with the new co-op mode.
It's interesting to hear that the game seems to be increasing in popularity according to the devs, in spite of EA's decision to launch it uncomfortably close to Battlefield 1 late last year.
"In the last FNN we mentioned that we’ve currently been seeing over 1 million active users a month. We’re thrilled to update that since the last DLC drop we’ve seen player counts continue to grow month over month which is great to see at this point since release. It’s amazing to see lots of players still engaged with Titanfall 2 and new players coming in all the time", is the word from Respawn Entertainment.
You will need Origin for the trial.
