Titanfall games have had some issues with multiplayer on official servers but TF2 might have a workaround now that community servers are coming up.
Titanfall is basically unplayable at this point, with some dweeb ruining the fun for everyone and possibly trying to blackmail Respawn into giving them what they want. Titanfall 2 has also had major issues and they eventually spilt into Apex Legends, at which point they were resolved for the battle royale. The games it originated from were still swimming in problems.
On December 24, 2021, however, the community may have found a workaround that would actually let people play Titanfall 2 multiplayer without having to worry about a dipshit taking the whole thing down just to spite the world.
The solution came in the form of a server client that would let players insert custom content into the game, should they desire to, and host servers - custom or vanilla. It is this latter part of the package that will get the fans excited as they can now host servers where they could have more control over security instead of hoping for a Respawn miracle where they would go back and fix their older games that generate little to no revenue these days.
If you're interested in checking it out, you can grab everything you need from GitHub, including a Discord invitation for any discussion that may be necessary for maintaining a server.
Neither EA nor Respawn voiced their opinion on the community servers for now but they might just let them stay, as long as they don't generate revenue.
