Publisher Nacon and developer ACE Team have officially announced that The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu will release on July 15, 2026. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
The multiplayer horror shooter released a new trailer revealing the release date and also featured gameplay from a beta build as multiple streamers play the game trying not to die on the cursed island.
A Co-Op Horror Expedition
Players assume the role of treasure hunters exploring an ominous jungle while completing treasure hunting contracts. Dangerous jungles will await with ancient temples and other supernatural horrors and monsters.
Teams can have up to four players working together to loot up valuable treasure found around the island. Contracts can range from simple things like finding a missing treasure or person to even exploring an old fort that was swallowed by the jungle.
Hallucinations and Sanity Mechanics
Players will experience true love with this game’s sanity meter. As players venture through the jungle and come across grotesque images and monsters, their sanity will slowly decrease.
Players may experience simple hallucinations at first, but it won’t be long before you start seeing things. Whether it be scary monsters that don’t really exist or even your teammates getting torn apart by evil things.
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu features gameplay that is inspired by some of today’s extraction games. Before starting an expedition players will select a contract which will decide where you go and what you are looking for on the island.
While on your expedition you and your team will want to loot as much valuables as possible while managing your inventory. When you feel you have enough you better head back to your boat and escape the island before it’s too late.If you fail to escape the island you will lose all the treasure you have acquired.
