The rubberhose-style FPS MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will cost $29.99 and offer around 12 to 20 hours of gameplay when it launches on April 16.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, the noir detective shooter launching next month, has received its final price and length. Created by indie studio Fumi Games, MOUSE P.I. will launch at $29.99 and take players between 12 and 20 hours to complete.

Launching on April 16 after previously being set to release in March, MOUSE: P.I. for Hire allows players to explore its grim dark black-and-white cartoon world while unraveling the mystery of Mouseburg’s criminal underworld.

12 to 20 Hours of Gameplay

While the game may take players between 12 and 20 hours to complete, developers noted that going through the game at a “story pace” will bring players to the lower end of that calculation.

Completing side-content and digging through clues will net players closer to that 20-hour estimate. Players can expect to journey through roughly 20 levels while playing MOUSE: P.I. for Hire.

Like many Metroidvania games, players will acquire new skills that allow them to access new areas. With this in mind, backtracking will play a major role as players make their way through the game’s world.

Cartoon-Inspired Weapons and Boss Fights

Styled after 1930s rubber hose animation, MOUSE P.I. features unique weapons straight out of an old cartoon. Players will wield everything from Tommy guns to classic revolvers.

Of course, MOUSE P.I. features a lot more abnormal weapons to crack skulls with. Players can pick up the Turps & Gin Pair - a turpentine gun that literally melts enemies; or the MIND-D Conscious Gun, which can control enemy minds. Expect to use these weapons when taking down funky bosses like Betty Mark III, a robotic foe.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire launches April 16 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
