Hyenas: A new trailer and closed-beta details

Sega has just dropped a fresh trailer on YouTube for their upcoming multiplayer shooter, Hyenas, offering a glimpse into the high-octane action that awaits us along with insights about the imminent closed beta phase.

SEGA Europe Limited and Creative Assembly have pulled back the curtain on their latest creation, Hyenas, with the release of an exhilarating official gameplay trailer. The trailer provides a tantalising glimpse into the heart-pounding action of the game's chaotic, zero-gravity heist scenarios.

As players watch, the Hyenas, a team of audacious thieves, navigate the Earth Vintage Plundership, executing daring thefts and outsmarting the MURFS, relentless NPC security teams. The culmination of this thrilling escapade is a climactic zero-G showdown that promises to keep players on the edge of their seats.

Hyenas, a hero-based multiplayer extraction shooter, pits five teams of three against one another, all vying for supremacy as they compete to pilfer priceless pop culture artefacts from expansive, meticulously themed Plunderships. The excitement surrounding Hyenas will reach a fever pitch as it becomes publicly playable for the first time at Gamescom, the world's premier gaming event. Held from August 23 to August 27, this event promises attendees an exclusive sneak peek at the game's fast-paced and innovative gameplay.

For those unable to attend Gamescom in person, there's still cause for celebration. The inaugural Closed Beta for Hyenas will commence on August 31 and run through September 11, exclusively for PC players. Aspiring players can secure their spot in the Closed Beta by registering through the Steam Playtest.

The Closed Beta will introduce eight unique specialists, including the OG Hyena, Mozie, and the rock-and-roll roadie, Digits. These newcomers will join a dynamic cast of characters, such as the graceful ballerina Prima, the intrepid astronaut Commander Wright, and the lightning-fast cosplayer Hero-Ki.

The dates for the end of the closed beta and the full release are still under wraps, with the release set for 2023. Once it's out, the game will be accessible on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
