In a recent interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, Capcom have revealed that Resident Evil Village is more or less over halfway done. They also explained the unusual naming and confirmed more details are coming this month.

It looks like Capcom are ready to showcase another trailer for their upcoming horror title Resident Evil Village or Resident Evil 8: Village. The developer revealed that August is the month when they plan to reveal more info about the game. It is possible that the new trailer could be shown at the rumoured PlayStation 5 event, which is apparently scheduled for later this month.

In the interview , Capcom also revealed that Resident Evil Village is around 60 per cent complete, which suggests that the rumoured early 2021 release date may not be so realistic anymore. Of course, this is just speculation at the moment since Capcom never even mentioned the release date, apart from a vague 2021 release window. Hopefully, we'll get a more specific date soon.

Additionally, the devs said that you should be calling the game Resident Evil Village, not Resident Evil 8, since the Village is another protagonist in the game and Capcom want people to recognize that and call the game by its true name.

Resident Evil Village is officially hitting the shelves sometime in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. You can check out the reveal trailer  here  for more info about the game.
