The Mercenaries mode for Resident Evil 4 was not included at launch, but Capcom has already informed owners that the mode will be available as early as April 7, 2023.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is now officially available to all game owners. However, as previously announced at Sony ’s first 2023 State of Play last month, the Mercenaries mode will not be available immediately following the game's release.
But don't worry, if you're a fan of this popular Resident Evil mode, you won't have to wait long to play it. The Mercenaries mode will be available to all game owners as a free add-on beginning April 7, 2023. To gain access to it, you will have to first complete the game's main story at least once.
The original Resident Evil 4 was one of the best-received Resident Evil games of all time, introducing a completely new way to control the character as well as many other renowned gameplay elements that were used in later Resident Evil titles.
In the original game, the Mercenaries mode was an action-focused section where the player accumulated points by eliminating opponents and then unlocking new weapons and characters. Resident Evil Village also had a similar mode in which you could even play as some of the villains. For the time being, it is unknown whether the same will be possible in the Resident Evil 4 remake.
Resident Evil 4 is a full remake of the 2005 game of the same name, continuing Capcom 's tradition of remaking old titles. Resident Evil 2 and 3 have already been remade and have received excellent reviews. It remains to be seen whether this holds true for Resident Evil 4. The game is available for PlayStation 4 , PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X|S , and PC .
