Remedy Entertainment has released a FBC: Firebreak Game Overview trailer ahead of its launch on June 17, 2025, spotlighting its three-player co-op FPS gameplay. As you've probably heard by now, the game is set within the paranatural-containment world of Control, and it's unlike anything Remedy have done before.
The developer seem to have big plans for their co-op shooter in the form of post-launch content, which they outlined today. It's not the biggest content support you'll see in the era of live service games but given that Remedy are not the biggest dev team either and this is their first multplayer game, I'd say it's more than enough.
FBC: Firebreak Launch Info
Set for release on PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, FBC: Firebreak is priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99, and will be available day one on Game Pass (PC & Ultimate) and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium. A $49.99 Deluxe Edition is also offered, featuring two premium voice packs, a unique shotgun skin, spray, and armor cosmetics—with a $10 upgrade available post-launch.
Gameplay, Weapons, Missions and Story
The new overview trailer shows us a glimpse of Firebreak missions, team roles, and mission structure, including paranatural tools and loadout customization. Remedy also decided to talk about the plot and lore a bit, explaining how FBC sealed off a building swarming with various enemies and then sent a team of Firebreak Initiative to clear it out. Yes, you'll be on that team.
Before every mission, you'll get to choose your loadout which includes your primary weapon, throwables and a set of perks you think it's the best for the job.
Post-Launch Roadmap
Remedy has outlined a robust post-launch content plan for 2025:
Fall Update ("Outbreak"): Adds a new Job and location in the Research Sector, plus new enemies and free rewards, along with paid Classified Requisitions (armor sets, sprays, skins, voice packs).
Winter Update ("Blackout"): Brings another new Job and Jobsite, expanded gear and enemy types, free rewards, and additional Classified Requisition items.
Remedy say that they will continue expanding FBC: Firebreak with post-launch content. All future playable content, including new Jobs, will be free of charge which is always nice to hear. Players will have the option to purchase cosmetics, but none of these items will affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins.
