PUBG's Season 9 will kick off in the last week of October. The new season will only last two months but it is set to introduce a new ever-changing map.
After teasing the new Paramo map a couple of days ago, the folks at the PUBG Corporation are now giving us a preview of everything PUBG's Season 9 is going to have in store.
PUBG's Season 9 will be a bit...different. First off, its runtime will only be two months long. During this short time, the devs will try to make a major impact on everything you know (and still hope to learn) about Battle Royale and PUBG.
The upcoming changes include a special event mode with an all-new map and two different passes exclusive to Season 9.
The dark and dangerous plateau of Paramo is home to, among other things, a very active volcano. The small-scale map features dynamic lava flows and locations that will change every time you drop in.
The usual drop-ins will be traded in for a helicopter ride. These helicopters will carry more than just human cargo though. The choppers will perform the dual responsibility of dropping off combatants as well as distributing care packages.
If those care packages look like they're taking their own sweet time dropping to the ground, you can always shoot at them and let gravity handle the rest.
Paramo is also steeped in a rich history that’s worth digging into. If interested, you can check out the new official lore site and sign up for updates about Paramo and more.
Season 9 will launch with Update 9.1 which will come with a familiar Season Pass. It will be dedicated to the rich culture and aesthetic of Paramo. The pass has been modified to accommodate for the shortened season.
The second Season Pass will launch with Update 9.2 and will be focused on an infamous PUBG character.
Season 9 drops October 21 on PC and October 29 on consoles.
