UPDATE: Pearl Abyss spokesperson has clarified that core developers of DokeV are still working on the same project. Additionally, the publisher said that the game's release window is not yet decided.
Pearl Abyss' full statement:
"Core developers of DokeV, including lead producer Sangyoung Kim and lead game designer Changki Nam, are still working on the same project. DokeV's release window is not decided. We aim to communicate details at a later stage."
Original story: Pearl Abyss say their charming open-world action-adventure DokeV is still in development and it's meeting their internal development roadmaps. However, the other action-adventure, Crimson Desert, is still coming first and only after that, Pearl Abyss will focus on completing the development of DokeV.
Given that Pearl Abyss just revealed that Crimson Desert has been delayed to the latter half of 2023, and DokeV will only release after Crimson Desert, it's safe to assume that the release of DokeV won't be coming before 2024.
Pearl Abyss say their core development team are currently focusing on Crimson Desert therefore they won't be able to provide additional information on DokeV anytime soon.
Additionally, some players were concerned that DokeV switched to the MMO genre since a recent recruiting video from Pearl Abyss mentioned such information but the publisher have since confirmed that the game is still an open-world action adventure, which is certainly good news for the fans.
DokeV was officially announced back in 2019, followed with another trailer at Gamescom in 2021. Since then, we haven't heard much for the reasons mentioned above and it will probably stay that way for a while.
DokeV is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
