Pearl Abyss CEO Jin Young Heo says the team aims to complete the development of Crimson Desert by the end of 2023 and it's currently increasing focus to meet that target.
Pearl Abyss ' highly-anticipated open-world RPG Crimson Desert has been in development for a while but it does appear like the game is finally set to be released later this year.
In the most recent comments regarding Pearl Abyss' plans for 2023, CEO Jin Young Heo reiterated that the goal is to release Crimson Desert this year and in order to achieve that goal, the team are increasing their focus on the development of the game, according to Korean press.
Jin Young Heo said Pearl Abyss "are currently in the stage of completing new works" and will look to grow in size in the coming years, presumably as they ramp up simultaneous AAA game development.
So far, Pearl Abyss released several Crimson Desert videos, showcasing truly spectacular visuals and a vast open world as well as new characters and plot.
Crimson Desert is certainly one to keep an eye on if you're a fan of third-person action games despite the recent delays and Pearl Abyss not so great reputation due to Black Desert's controversial monetisation.
Pearl Abyss are also working on other AAA titles like DokeV , which is coming after Crimson Desert, as well as Plan 8, an MMO shooter that was revealed back in 2019. The Korean devs certainly have their hands full and we cannot wait to see and hear more about their projects.
