Winter Wonderland 2019 is now live in Overwatch. The event brought seven new skins for this Holiday season. The skins from previous years are also back. Weekly challenges will let you earn three new skins for Soldier 76, Moira and Mercy. An all-new winter brawl is also available.
Overwatch's Winter Wonderland event for 2019 is now live. The event brought back last years' skins and added some new ones. New Highlight Intros and Emotes have also been wrapped up in the event-specific loot boxes.
Mei's Yeti Hunt and Snowball Offensive have returned for 2019. Jeff and the Overwatch team have also added a new game mode - the aptly named Snowball Deathmatch. It's an eight-player free-for-all kind of fun where every player gets to play Mei and you can just imagine how scary that looks.
The Deathmatch will grant the Meis a modified snowball gun and a new ability called "Catch" that lets you, well, catch the enemy snowball and add it to your ammo count. The first player to rack up 15 eliminations wins. But at what cost!?
The new Winer Wonderland 2019 skins include:
- Doomfist: Jötunn (Legendary)
- McCree: Mountain Man (Legendary)
- Reaper: Rat King (Legendary)
- Sigma: Rime (Legendary)
- Moira: Holly (Epic)
- Mercy: Snow Angel (Epic)
- Soldier 76: Ugly Sweater: 76 (Epic)
You will be able to earn the last three skins by winning a total of nine games for each. Every week of the event will bring a different one, and we'll kick things off with the Ugly Sweater 76 for our favourite Soldier. Win three times and you get a player icon. Six wins net you a spray.
The same deal will carry on through weeks 2 and 3. Week 2 will bring Moira's Holly skin and nine victories during week 3 will plunge you into a well of indecisiveness as to which skin to equip for Mercy - the new Snow Angel is looking Super! fine.
Winston and Sombra got some fresh emotes and there's a new Highlight Intro for Mei. The festivities will come to an end on 3 January 2020.
